What are some easy french food recipes to bring in to french class?

Something simple that doesn't need to be refridgerated while in school, and can be heated up in a microwave haha.

Thanks. [:

Btw, anything with fruit, vegetables, or some desert would be great.

You can make haricots vert with slivered almonds.... You can buy the beans at Trader Joe's (or Costco, if you are in a big class!), microwave them at school (4 minutes, right in the bag or in a Ziploc steamer bag), then just mix with a tablespoon of butter and a handful of slivered almonds that you've ';toasted'; in a pan beforehand and brought to school with you....

An appetizer might be to get a couple of French cheeses (brie and camembert being the easiest to find) and some super fresh French bread (or make bread!), and put on a platter with grapes. Let the cheese sit out until class so they soften and their flavor develops -- cheese is never refrigerated in France!

Something dessert-y might be an apple tart or a tarte tatin, or maybe even just apples sliced and sauteed with butter, a tablespoon of sugar, and a splash of Calvados (apple liqueur) and served (warmed up in the microwave at school) over good quality vanilla bean ice cream -- apples are very common in cooking in Brittany, and the Calvados will burn off in the saute pan, so you're not serving alcohol to your classmates!
Funny you should ask. I'm the feature writer for the French Cuisine category on Suite101.com. We specialize there in recipes that take the mystique out of French cooking. I have a couple of crepe recipes, well one (your teacher probably doesn't want you flaming liqueur in the classroom) plus a whole lot more. Allons y!

Bon chance.
