My baby loved her homemade apple sauce. I'd take 4 granny smiths and 4 golden delicious, peel and core them, steam them in the microwave until soft, and mash them up. I used a blender when she was just starting out and started to mash with a fork as she got used to more texture. I'd also alternate between adding Cinnamon and nutmeg.
