I am tired of the stupid pet food recalls, I want to make my own. What are good homemade dog food recipes?
Consider a healthy raw diet. My dogs love it. It only takes me a couple hours each month to put together a month's worth of meals for my two large labs. Cost factor? I was able to cut my dog food bill in HALF after switching to raw. My dogs have never been happier or healthier.
There is another diet option other than dog food. Some people choose to feed a raw diet. This involves feeding the dog raw meaty bones and organ meat. However it is not as simple as throwing a couple chicken bones in a bowl everyday. If you wish to feed this type of diet, do lots and lots of research first. Switching to this diet without knowing what your doing can lead to nutritional problems for your dog. I'll give you some links as a starting point in research if you are interested in this type of diet.

What's Really In Pet Food

I don't know but nebbi is too cute to get sick!!!! lol
We just feed them table scraps. Mix it all together, this way there meat and veggies. The dogs eat it and once a year they go to the Vet and he say; ';everything good see you next year';! But, I did keep Dry Dog Food out as a snack. But, what dog food made from?
If you like to learn the link give a list for a days reading. It also include Cats, Fish, Birds etc. real nice place to learn. Though they too have their word about table scraps. But, we all have our opinions and my dogs live many years. Sampson turned 19 or 20 this year and still like a little Bacon and Egg for Breakfast.
This was my dogs favorite no matter how sick he was he would eat the fallowing things.
#1 - Beef + Rice fry up lean (only lean) beef of any sort in a pan only about half way so its still pink then transfer to a pot with water and add whatever amount of rice coresponding to the water.
#2 - Beef + Veggies - very much like a stew put in carrots peas meat whatever he'll love you
#3 - Potatoes and stew - boil some potatoes and use half a can of human stew and mash it all together
make a cheap meat and human breakfast cereal mix with veggies kind of stew...you don't need to cook the heck out of it...just so the bacteria is killed and the food is soft enough he wont choke...don't use all the spices we use either! and very very little salt...I don't eat cereals but there must be a brand out there that's bland and doesn't have sugars and other stuff that he doesn't need in his diet...he just needs the fibre with his diner
A great one is doggy biscuits. Rub in the same amount of sausage meat with homemeal flour as if you were making pastry, cut them out with a pastry cutter and then bake them. My Weimaraner loves them.
